Songyi Wang is an actor from China, became a dancer at the Jilin theatre in China when she was just a child. From then, she fell in love with the stage and made it her lifelong career until 2010. When she had a chance to take part in a stage performance, from that moment on she decided to make acting her goal in life, she quit a stable theatre job and went to acting curse in the Central Academy of Drama in BeiJing.
After graduation to now, the theatre work has taken up most of her life. She has been exploring and expressing herself in dancing and acting. In 2021 she moved to London to study Directing (MA) at the East 15 Drama school and will start to study Voice in Royal Central Speech and Drama in 2022. It’s not that she’s uncommitted to her work, she just wants to continue to progress, to create exciting work and to contribute to the development of theatre by combining the cultures and difference between East and West.
Songyi really wants to create show that is international in scope. That sounds ambitious, but she never changed it, she is now taking steps to achieve her goal: to perform in great theatre with a lovely group of people, and to expand it to the world.
